Editorial Timeline and Acceptance Rate

At SMIJ, we are committed to ensuring a fair, transparent, and timely peer review process, in accordance with international publishing standards and the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

We strive to balance speed with quality by providing the following editorial timeline:

• Desk Rejection Notification (for out-of-scope or non-compliant submissions): within 5–7 business days.
• First Editorial Decision (including initial peer-review feedback): within approximately 10–14 weeks of submission.
• Final Decision and Acceptance (after revisions, if applicable): generally within 25–32 weeks from the initial submission.
• Online Publication (for accepted manuscripts): normally within 1–3 weeks after final acceptance.

SMIJ applies a selective and ethics-centered editorial policy, prioritizing original, high-quality, and methodologically rigorous research that aligns with the journal’s aims and scope.

Authors may monitor the progress of their submission through the online system and contact the editorial office for procedural inquiries if the process extends beyond the journal’s stated processing timeframe.
